DS Market Expanding With Headset, Browser Hunting and Animals this Christmas in S. Korea

Electronic Arts recently announced that it has shipped SimCity DS to stores. Bringing the popular PC franchise to the DS, this portable entry features the city-building gameplay the series is famous for, along with numerous DS-exclusive extras.

Thanks to the precision of stylus control, players are able to plan and build their cities on the touch screen as if they were using a mouse. The game lets players run either eight pre-made cities, or start their own from scratch. Advisers along the way also offer tips and information on everything from tax rates to keeping citizens happy. Additionally, players need to prevent natural disasters, such as fires which be be blown out by literally blowing into the DS's microphone. EA has also included a wireless mode in which two players can swap mayoral letters and unlock landmarks.

"The game offers everything that consumers love about the SimCity franchise in the most light-hearted and easy to pick-up-and-play manner," said Takahiro Murakami, Producer at Electronic Arts. "Our goal is to create a SimCity game on the Nintendo DS platform that offers quick gameplay, satisfies players on-the-go and is engaging enough to keep playing in bed all night... SimCity DS offers just
that!"

Rated Everyone by the ESRB, SimCity DS is now available for a suggested retail price of $29.99.
